Description

Description
This is a great piece
that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home.
It is made of walnut and is painted, the paint is bubbled in many places and coming right off.
The shelf is trimmed in dentil molding and supported by 2 carved corbels.
The raised breast between the corbels have very nice applied carvings.
Below each corbel is a partially fluted column with carved capitals.
Overall it is 65.75 inches wide by 50 tall and 12.5 deep.
The opening is 42.5 inches wide by 36 tall without the moldings.
Overall, it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning.
A couple pieces of the applied carving have come off, I have them and others are lifting. They will need to be reglued onto the breast after paint is cleaned up or off. Please look at the pictures carefully.

I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage. I try to measure within 1/8 of an inch.
About Us
My salvage business was born of necessity in 1993 when I started restoring an old Victorian home that had seen better days. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. I found and purchased all of the things that I needed for my project and lots of extra treasures which I eventually resold. 17 years later this is still my full time job! I salvage whatever I can think can be reused as long as there is room in my warehouse. The warehouse is open for treasure hunting anytime by appointment. Just contact me to schedule a day and time! Thanks for visiting.  Steve and Michelle
