Description

Rare brass antique English club fender fireplace bench with brass uprights. Leather replaced in early 1980's.Very comfortable and hard to find. In excellent condition -- leather completely intact, though brass needs polishing.
These fireplace fender seats are seen in all English country houses and estates, such as Highclere Castle (Downton Abby). Exact age is unknown but circa late 1800s. It is a unique fireplace surround that adds valuable additional seating and allows you to warm yourself by the fire.
It measures 96" x 32" on the outside and 72" x 20" and is 20" high.
