Vintage Fireback / Royal Coat of Arms VMC Colonial Williamsburg Reproduction
This cast iron fireback is a reproduction of the original coat of arms of King Charles I of England that was housed in the Governor's palace in Colonial Williamsburg. The coat of arms includes C R (Charles Rex) The Royal Crown, A lion, a Unicorn and more undiscernable detail.
This item is embossed with the Virginia Metalcrafters foundry and Colonial Williamsburg Restoration hallmark along with  T Elsley,(accredited to original designer Thomas Elsley & Co. Portland Metalworks, London) . The dimensions are 21 3/4" wide x 23 1/2" high x 3/4" thick and weighs just under 50 lbs.
This fireback has surface rust and foriegn debris and may have been used, but it is not cracked and is in good overall condition.
