    Description

This is a Vintage Sans & Streiffe No.311 Bamboo Slide Rule with Leather Case and instruction booklet.  I am the original owner and took very good care of it.  It's in great condition, purchased in the early 1970s and has been stored away for years.  Before electronic calculators, this is what was used to perform complex math calculations.  When I was studying engineering in college, most students started out with cheap plastic slide rules.  While they worked adequately, most engineers aspired to get a luxurious bamboo model.  Sans & Streiffe was well known for quality slide rules made in Japan.
The instruction booklet is essential for learning how to use it.  It can do basic multiplication and division, square and cube roots, common and natural logarithms, and trigonometric functions (sines, cosines, tangents, etc.)  In addition to pi (
π),  there are also lesser known
gauge marks "C" for calculating area of a circle or volume of a cylinder and "P0" for converting from degrees to radians.  This is shipped with USPS priority mail.
