    Description

    Up for auction, we are offering a heavy duty vintage
    CAST IRON BLOCK & TACKLE PULLEY
    embossed on one side,
    S. CHENEY & SON
    and on the other side it is embossed,
    MANLIUS, N.Y.
    In addition, it is also embossed with the number
    6
    on both sides.
    The pulley weighs 7 pounds and 7.5 ounces.
    Some information I found on-line is that S. Cheney & Son had started business in 1866 but not sure how long they were in business.
    It measures about 11 inches long by 6 inches wide.
    The pulley is in very good condition with no cracks or breaks in the metal.
    There are a few very small dings or “chips” in the metal along the outside edge of the wheel.
    In addition, there is some surface rust.
    The wheel spins freely.
